Privacy Policy

DavayGO is operated as a closed Telegram community. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to control it. Plain language, short on purpose.

What we collect

When you open DavayGO inside Telegram, Telegram shares with us your numeric ID, first name, last name (if set), username (if set), language, and a cryptographic signature that proves the request genuinely came from you. We do not receive your phone number, contact list, or message history.

If you fill in optional profile fields — city, bio, photo, interests, intent (friend / network / events), languages spoken — we store those too. You can clear them anytime from Settings → Profile.

How we use it

To show you events, hangouts, and other members; to let people you've met send you messages; to send reminders for things you RSVP'd to; and to keep abuse out.

If you opt in to the AI matcher, we use your interests + availability buckets to cluster you with members for spontaneous hangout proposals. You can opt out anytime in Settings.

We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not share with marketers.

Who can see what

Your name, photo, bio, interests and intent are visible to other approved DavayGO members. Your Telegram @handle is hidden by default — you choose whether to expose it in Settings.

Your email (collected during the invite request) is never shown to other members and is used only for admin review and account recovery.

References you write or receive are visible to other members on your profile (and on the other person's profile, in the case of references you wrote).

Location data

When you create a hangout, post your availability as “free now”, or pin yourself on the live map, you optionally share a venue or general coordinates. This is visible only to other approved DavayGO members within range.

Location data is purged automatically when your availability or hangout expires (within hours, not days). We never sell or share precise location.

References and trust

References are short reviews written by members who actually met you at an event or hangout. They're visible on your profile to other approved members. We don't share them outside the community.

If you believe a reference is inaccurate or written in bad faith, contact an admin (see below). Admins can remove references that violate community rules.

Third parties

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to operate the service: Telegram (authentication and messaging), our hosting provider (server + database), an error-monitoring service (Sentry), an open geocoding service (Nominatim/OpenStreetMap) for venue coordinates, and an image generation provider (Leonardo AI) for optional event cover art.

These providers receive only the data needed to operate their part of the service. We do not give them rights to use your data for their own purposes.

Retention and deletion

Active accounts: data is retained while your account is active.

Account deletion: request deletion in Settings → Account. Within 7 days we delete your profile, references you wrote, hangouts you hosted, and RSVPs. Chat messages you sent are anonymized but retained for thread continuity.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data anytime from Settings → Profile and Settings → Account. To request a copy of all data we hold about you, contact us at the address below.

If you're in the EU/EEA you have additional rights under GDPR (right to erasure, portability, restriction of processing, objection). We honor all of them.
